Matte Henderson
Matte Henderson
Alright, you pricks, buckle up — we're about to tell you about Matte Henderson, one of the sickest, most deranged guitarists on the planet.
This chickenf@#ker has been melting faces for nearly three decades, and Robert Fripp — yes, that Robert Fripp — once wrote him a goddamn testimony. When the king of King Crimson is vouching for your a$$, you know you're doing something right.
Matte has played with an insane roster of legendary a$$holes, including Tony Levin, David Torn, Pat Mastelotto, Trey Gunn, Natalie Merchant, Henry Kaiser, Medeski, Screaming Headless Torsos, and the late, great Mick Karn. He's also a high-end guitar designer, because apparently shredding wasn't enough for this overachieving bastard.
His debut album The Veneer of Logic, cooked up with drummer Marco Minnemann, is what Bad Brains' Doctor Know called "muttcore" — post-rock, industrial, metal, and ambient thrown into a blender and set on fire. It's a dirty, mind-bending sonic orgy that'll make your ears bleed in the best possible way.
Matte Henderson is a f'ing legend. Act accordingly.
